We are meeting some kids today from the Park School in Brookline, MA. Their class does a lot of recycling and they even have their own Web site where they post videos and photos and all kinds of cool things.

It's a team effort, but Taylor and Louie were chosen to talk about what they do. Taylor, why are you doing all this?
Not a lot of schools recycle. Ours didn't. Now we recycle paper and plastic and bottles. Parents help take it all away. We also collect money from redeemable bottles.
How much money do you have so far?
We'll find out at the end of the year. It's in a piggy bank. We'll spend it on a good cause. Maybe something to help the environment.
What about these movies you made? There are all kinds of weird superheroes in there. Louie: you play Trashman. How did you come up with all this?
We just brainstormed the plot. We made up the dialogue and started filming.
Do you think you're making a difference?
I think so. One thing we did was work out how much paper the school uses in a year. It would make a pile higher than the Washington Monument in Washington DC! Now the school says it will buy 30% recycled paper.
Our Kindergarten is growing things and the school might even get a hybrid school bus. Everyone in the school knows what we're doing. And we give out awards to people doing green things.
That's awesome. It's just like we were saying, any school can make a difference. As soon as one class starts, then everyone will want to join in. You guys rock!
