Hey Izz, what are you doing?
Hey Izz, what are you doing?
I'm practicing yoga. It's good exercise, and it helps me relax. Plus yoga can also be good for the planet!
How can stretching on a mat help the environment?
It's not the stretching that helps, it's how and where you do it. I heard that a group of yoga teachers have come together to figure out how to turn their studios green.
Are they ... painting them?
Not that kind of green! Green yoga studios print schedules on recycled paper, install energy-saving lightbulbs, and use natural cleaning supplies instead of ones with chemicals.
Oh, I get it... we try to do those things at home, too! But what if I can't go to a special yoga studio?
If you practice at home, you can be kinder to the earth through your yoga mat! Most mats are made with PVC, a kind of plastic that stays in landfills forever, but mats made of cotton or natural rubber are biodegradable — that means they'll eventually break down.
Awesome. Hey, what was that pose you were doing before?
Cobra.
Cool, let me try! Hisssss...
Dex, you're supposed to STRETCH, not wiggle around like a snake.
Thissssss is fun! I love green yoga!
