Brrrrr...
Brrrrr...
What's wrong? Why are your teeth chattering?
My mom turned the heat way d-d-down to save energy. She said there's no point in having it on all day while we're not even here. It's freezing!
Can't you put on another sweater?
I'm already wearing three!
Wow. It's always great to save energy, but if you're really this cold, there might be another option...
T-T-T-TELL ME!
If you have a programmable thermostat, you can keep the heat a little higher in the morning and evening when everyone's at home. Then you can set it lower during the day and late at night. That way the heat only kicks in when you need it the most.
That sounds p-p-pretty good. How do you know what kind of thermostat you have?
If your thermostat has a dial that you turn to set the temperature, you probably can't program it. But if it has buttons and a digital display, you probably can.
Okay, let's go see if we can program my thermostat. I hope it's digital!
